Regression methods 2: logistic and Cox regression

The Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg

This course introduces logistic regression models and Cox proportional hazard models, with applications in medical and health sciences. Also, Kaplan-Meier curves and log-rank test will be discussed when introducing survival data. In the course, assumptions underlying the mentioned regression models will be explained, requirements on the data will be discussed and methods for model fitting and checking will be introduced. Interpreting and communicating the results is also an important part.

Computer exercises will give students the opportunity to gain practical skills in applying the discussed methods and models to data using statistical software.

This course requires solid knowledge of multiple linear regression methods and one of the entry requirements is to have taken the course “Regression methods 1: multiple regression with focus on linear regression, 2 hp” or equivalent.

Late application including a course certificate or transcript of records showing that you fullfil the entry requirements should be sent to Marie Göthlund, marie.gothlund@gu.se
