Conducting scoping reviewsAalborg University, Doctoral School in Medicine, Biomedical Science and TechnologyThe objective of this three-day course is to provide the participants an understanding of why and how to develop a scoping review protocol and conduct a scoping review using the JBI methodology. Scoping reviews provide an overview of the existing literature within a defined topic of interest. A scoping review can be used to map the key concepts that underpin a field of research, as well as to clarify working definitions, and/or the conceptual boundaries of a topic. The most common reasons for conducting a scoping review are to explore the breadth or extent of the literature, map and summarize the evidence, and inform future research.
