Biostatistics I (19/2 + 26/2 + 5/3 + 12/3 + 17/3 + Exam 18-25/3 2026)

The student is introduced to the basic statistical techniques applied to biological and medical examples. Topics covered are: Descriptive statistics, data types, elementary probability concepts, statistical distributions, comparison of two samples by parametric and nonparametric methods, t-tests, paired observations, basic design of experiments, basic analysis of frequency data, linear and multiple regression, analysis of variance. The statistical package Stata is used for analysis of real medical and health related examples
