Assessment of patient-reported outcomes and experience

The Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg

The course consists of lectures and seminars and covers “state of the art” in patient-reported outcome measures and experiences (PROM and PREM), relevant concepts and definitions, assessment instruments, analytical strategies, and clinical and epidemiological applications. Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) reflects physical and mental health or disease status and indicates social wellbeing and spiritual wellness. Patient-reported outcome measures (PROM) can be used to study patients' subjective experiences in relation to specific treatments or conditions. Patient-reported experience measures (PREM) focus more on the patient's overall experience. In this third-cycle level course, lectures and seminars cover the "state of the art" of PROMs and PREMs, its history, development, concepts, definitions, assessment instruments, clinical applicability, analysis methods, and interpretation of findings.

The course is open for applications on 1-21 October 2023. Late application: please contact Hanna Falk Erhag, hanna.falk@gu.se
